What if after two millenia of forecasts worse than Pete Sheppard's, the crackpots finally have it right this time? So Y2K was just another day, what if 6/6/06 really IS the signal for humanity to plunge into the end times?

Assume that's the case. Shouldn't the producers of the sure-to-be-dreadful remake of "The Omen" have opened their horror epic BEFORE today? The Apocalypse has got to, well, play merry hell with those all-important first weekend's grosses.
